“My site loads 40 CSS files, but I can barely see any of those elements on the home page” — that sentence comes up in almost every page speed consultation I do, usually with Elementor or Divi sites. The culprit is almost never the theme, but the sum of all active plugins dutifully loading their CSS and JavaScript on every page. Three tools address exactly this problem, but in completely different ways.

These are the two names that come up in almost every consultation. Elementor and Divi have both been building millions of WordPress sites for years, both work, and both have loyal followers who consider the other one a mistake. I build and maintain sites with both. My honest answer up front: the difference is not in what you can build […]

Bricks is the builder people rave about most in the specialist forums. Clean code, fast pages, no ballast — the arguments are well known and they are largely true. Even so, I explicitly advise some of my clients against it. Not because Bricks is bad, but because the question of which builder is […]

Most people looking for this comparison did not choose WPBakery. It came bundled with a theme they bought on a marketplace six or eight years ago — back then it was still called Visual Composer and was simply included in the purchase. Now the site has aged, editing feels sluggish, and somewhere the […]

Beaver Builder is the page builder people talk about least — and the one with the best reputation among professionals. Those who use it have done so for years and rarely switch. Elementor is the opposite: loud, popular, with a feature set that grows every year. Both approaches have good reasons […]

Breakdance comes from the makers of Oxygen, and it entered the field with a clear claim: Elementor's usability, but without its ballast, and with everything built in that you need additional plugins for with Elementor. That is a strong promise. It has also largely been kept. Even so, Breakdance is not […]

Oxygen is often mentioned in the same breath as Elementor, and that is misleading. The two do not solve the same task for the same people. Elementor is a tool for website owners. Oxygen is a tool for people who build websites and want to stay as close to HTML and CSS as possible […]

This comparison is different from the others on this site. With Divi, Bricks or Breakdance the question is which tool you use inside WordPress. Here the question is whether you use WordPress at all. Webflow is not a WordPress extension but a platform of its own: builder, hosting and content system in one […]

This question comes up at the very beginning, and it is usually answered under time pressure. Someone needs a website, sees an advert, clicks on a site builder and has something visible after a weekend. That is not a bad route. I do not advise against it on principle, and I earn nothing […]

A stolen or guessed password is still the most common way WordPress sites get taken over. Two-factor authentication closes exactly that gap. The question is no longer whether, but which plugin. I compare the three options that come up most often in my training sessions.

There is a third route that is almost always missing from page builder comparisons: keeping the block editor and extending it instead of replacing it with a page builder. That is exactly what Spectra, Kadence Blocks and GenerateBlocks do. They bring containers, grids, buttons, accordions and the like as real WordPress blocks […]

Brizy set out with a clear promise: to be the simplest page builder for WordPress. Fewer settings, fewer menus, fewer ways to get something wrong. That is a legitimate goal, and Brizy delivers on it better than most. Whether it is the right tool for you depends on whether you will be happy […]
