Looking for a WordPress workshop in Vienna? I offer intensive 1:1 WordPress coaching online — via Zoom or MS Teams, on your own site. The workshop character (intensive, focused, hands-on) stays the same: you learn directly on your project and remain flexible in terms of timing. In this article I explain how it works, what you get out of it and how I proceed. Transparency upfront: I no longer offer group workshops. Everything runs as 1:1 — one person, one trainer, full focus on your specific site and your questions.
Why 1:1 coaching instead of a group workshop?
In group workshops there is always a compromise: pace, prior knowledge, topics. Those who are faster get bored. Those who are slower fall behind. Anyone with a specific problem on their site cannot get it solved in a group, because that would go beyond the scope.
1:1 solves all of this. We take your real site, your real questions, your real blockers — and work on them until they are gone. The pace adapts. Topics come from your reality, not from a curriculum.

What you learn in a coaching session
A typical 1:1 coaching covers, depending on your starting point:
Setup & basic concepts. Hosting, domain, WordPress installation. Those who do not yet have a domain register one. I go through the WordPress hosting options for Austria (World4you, Hosttech, EasyName, as well as international ones such as Cloudways) — you choose for your project.
Themes, pages, posts. You install a theme (Astra or GeneratePress, depending on your goal), set up the page structure, fill in the first pages — I guide you via screen sharing. Here you really come to understand the difference between pages and posts — not just as a definition, but on your own site.
Page builder or block editor. Depending on the project, you work with the native Gutenberg editor or with Elementor. Both have their place — I derive my recommendation from your project, not from passing trends.
Plugins & security. Which plugins are indispensable? How do you install them safely? What are the first security measures you should implement right away? Under my guidance you set up an SEO plugin (Rank Math or Yoast), a cache plugin and a security plugin.
Wrap-up & next steps. You get a checklist for the next 30 days and my contact details for follow-up questions.
What you have after an intensive session: a WordPress website live online with a theme, at least three filled pages, three installed plugins and a working backup. Not a “theoretically you could now …“, but: live, visible, documented.
How many sessions do you need?
Depends on your starting point and goal. Three typical scenarios:
One intensive session (3–4 hours). Enough for: onboarding onto an existing site, solving a specific problem, a page builder crash course.
Three to four sessions of 2 hours each, spread over 2–3 weeks. Enough for: setting up a complete new site with guidance — you do it yourself, I coach.
Longer 1:1 support over several months. If you want not just to build a site but to learn WordPress in depth, in order to work with it commercially later on.

How the online coaching works technically
Tool: Zoom or MS Teams for video plus screen sharing. If you need to show something that only happens in your environment, we take a look via Anydesk or TeamViewer. You always stay in control — I see, but I do not click without agreement.
Setup recommendation: Two screens are ideal. Zoom runs on one, WordPress on the other. It also works with just one screen, only a little more cumbersome (we switch between apps more often).
Time zones: Are you in Austria, Germany or Switzerland? Perfect. I offer appointments on weekdays between 09:00 and 18:00 (Europe/Vienna).
Recording: On request I record the session and provide the video as a private link for 90 days. That way you can look up what you have learned.
What you bring, what I provide
You bring:
- A laptop with a browser and webcam (no iPad — you need a full-fledged browser plus an FTP tool in an emergency)
- If available: domain login (e.g. World4you access) and hosting access
- A rough idea of which website you want to build — a few keywords are enough
- A stable internet connection (at least 10 Mbit/s upload for decent video)
I provide:
- The Zoom or MS Teams room
- Demo hosting for participants who do not yet have their own hosting
- A workbook (PDF, approx. 30 pages) with all the steps to look up
- 30 days of follow-up email support after the last session

FAQ: appointments, recording, requirements
When are appointments available? Weekdays 09:00–18:00 (Europe/Vienna) by arrangement. Request preferred times and I will reply within one working day with availability.
Who is the right target group? Individuals — solo self-employed people, entrepreneurs, career changers who need to have a website live in the foreseeable future or want to administer their existing site themselves.
Are there group workshops? Not at the moment. If you would like to learn together with colleagues: write to me and we will find a solution — often two consecutive 1:1 sessions are more efficient than a group compromise.
What requirements do I need to meet? None that are technical — you should be able to use an email program and navigate in a browser. If you already know HTML/CSS, that is a bonus, but not a must.
What if I get stuck after the coaching? You have 30 days of email support included. After that you can book follow-up hours or, if needed, hand over to maintenance.
Do I issue an invoice with a VAT ID? Yes, with an Austrian VAT ID. For clients in Germany or Switzerland the usual reverse-charge rules apply, which I take into account on the invoice.
